Oh What a Weekend...

We are literally just in the front door after a weekend in Vancouver at my niece's wedding.

We thought it was a nice touch when she and her fiance had a basket of smoked salmon and wine delivered to our hotel room. Just a little nibbly treat before heading over the Lions Gate to the venue.

Then we got to the place. A pier, down by Lonsdale Quay. Although the day had been gray and threatening, the sun took over. The string quartet played as we walked to the designated seating area. The live fish in the huge vases of imported Hawaiian flowers were very attractive. And we wondered what the ceremony would be like because it was not religious.

We knew we were in for something when the TV crew in the helicopter started hovering over us and filming. As for the rest... OMG.

You have to wait for the DVD. Words can not - CAN NOT - describe the rest adequately.

No one else in the family can get married. This one didn't quite out-Celine Celine, but it came damn close.

I'm looking forward to seeing the spread in People magazine. Who are these cousins? My cousins are the kind who have guns under their sofa and run occasionally profitable hardware stores. That's the redneck southern ones. Then there are the Australian ones who are essentially a version of the southerners sans guns.

Yeah, what Snades said. Who are these cousins and why did they get a helicopter?

I hope you have your ladders and tools ready cause when I get back we get to dismantle an old shed and put together the new one.

Guys, this was my NIECE. My poor brother had a stunned look on his face the whole night. However, that was because his daughter hadn't told him everything that was happening and he was as surprised as we were. He wasn't paying for any of it - the 32 year old groom did. Talk about marrying up??

Hey, guess what? Tag, you're it.
Apparently there is this thing in the blogosphere called tagging, it's something like a chain letter. I've been tagged and am passing it on to you. Read my blog and decide if you want to play or not. It's kind of fun.
